Often it’s an urgent gap-fill: a #2 to the CFO of a £10+bn Food business to step in as Group Financial Controller within a week. Or a Talent Acquisition Manager to work with our client, in-house to bring in a team.

Each campaign is its own: with thirty years’ delivering successful search, selection and interim outcomes, our approach has been honed to pretty much every scenario. Listening to our clients – carefully – is our guide.

Strength of process


Tried and trusted: EM’s methodology works, absolutely. Although we have our “Go-to” networks, each search starts with all 8+bn people on the planet (everyone will take a chance to improve their lot if they can..!). Very quickly it distils down to a “longlist” of between 20 – 50 names. The value add is in the screening and comparisons of these to produce the strongest possible shortlist, of 5 or 6. Nothing is left out: capabilities, culture fit, character, “push” and “pull” factors as well as, if required, psychometric assessment.

Understanding candidates’ true motivators is critical. Listening to what is said – and left unsaid – by them provides essential insight.

Negotiating the offer that both maximises the motivation of the successful candidate whilst also representing value for money to our client is an art, developed over time.
