Who we are:

 EM is a leader in executive search and selection both nationally and internationally. Established over nearly two decades EM's success has been built upon long lasting, trust based relationships with clients and candidates.

Operating at the forefront of the recruitment process, EM is the lynchpin between employer and employee. 

Clients range from small, rapidly growing entrepreneurial enterprises through to FTSE 100 PLCs.  They demand excellence, and we deliver.  Through our focus on providing the highest levels of quality we have won Exclusive and Preferred Supplier Agreements with a prestigious list of clients across all sectors.

EM's aim is to grow a portfolio of high quality niche businesses, which are synergistic, employ the most talented consultants and which deliver value creation over the long term.

Where we have come from:

  • 1993 - EM is founded by ex-accountants, David Howell and Sharmila Sharon Parekh, to focus on recruiting senior finance appointments for Blue-Chip corporates.
  • 1995 - EM expands from London and South East based coverage to a pan-European offering. EM Finance is created as a distinct division within the finance market.
  • 1996 - EM Consulting is created to focus exclusively on Management Consulting clients & specialises in recruiting strategy, process & technology roles.
  • 1998 - EM Finance develops further to encompass banking & financial services clients
  • 1999 - Launch of EM Financial Services, a specific brand to focus exclusively on fulfilling front office roles in investment banking and alternative asset managers.
  • 2001 - EM launches equity participation scheme offering all employees a stake in the company's success.
  • 2002 - EM Retail evolves to offer recruitment services to EM's retail clients.
  • 2003 - EM wins ground breaking 3-year supplier contract with Wal-Mart, the largest company in the world, to acquire talent  for roles across all disciplines.
  • 2006 - EM launches in the Middle East to build on existing relationships in the region and opens an office in Leeds. 
  • 2007 - EM is acquired by a consortium of private equity investors including Lloyds Development Capital (LDC) to provide synergistic finance arm to its existing business, the Interim Register.
  • 2007 - EM Increases its impressive awards portfolio winning the Recruiter Award for Training and Development for the second consecutive year and awards for Best Executive Search & Selection Firm 2007/2008 at the Recruitment Business Awards
  • 2008 - EM opens offices in Manchester, Edinburgh, and Paris.
  • 2009 - EM records record profits despite the recession.
  • 2009 - EM carves itself out from its parent Group and, funded by its founding management team, becomes an independent business again.
  • 2010 - EM moves to New offices in London's West End (see Get in Touch).
